Hello everyone,

I'm having a problem with PlayDance and I hope someone can help me.

The launcher works normally:

  1. Downloads updates to 100%.
  2. Installs updates to 100%.
  3. Shows READY.

However, as soon as I press PLAY, the game immediately crashes and displays this error:

Exceptionxml error at end_alpha_rate="0.2"

The RuntimeLog shows:

File: .\2DControl\XMLInterfacePharse.cppFunction: Ctl2D::CXMLInterfacePharse::CreateEftAlphaBlendLine: 1738Message: xml error at end_alpha_rate="0.2"

My system:

  1. Windows 11 Pro 64-bit
  2. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D
  3. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti
  4. DirectX 12

Things I've already tried:

  1. Fresh installation from the official PlayDance website.
  2. Reinstalled the game several times.
  3. Installed DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010).
  4. Ran both the installer and launcher as Administrator.
  5. Added the entire game folder to Windows Defender exclusions.
  6. Changed desktop resolution from 4K to 1920×1080.
  7. Removed dgVoodoo DirectX wrapper DLLs for testing.
  8. No MSI Afterburner, RTSS, ReShade, Overwolf, Razer Synapse, or other overlays are running.

The launcher always updates successfully, but the game crashes with the same XML error every single time.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Update:I tested the game on a second PC (Windows 11, Ryzen 7 5700X, RTX 3070) and the game crashes with exactly the same xml error at end_alpha_rate="0.2" message.

The error maybe caused by the Windows decimal separator setting, specifically the difference between ( , ) and ( . ), This is only a possible cause, but it is very easy and safe to test:
1 - Press: Win+R
2 - Type: intl.cpl
3 - Enter
4 - In the window that opens, click: Additional settings...
5 - Go to the Numbers tab
6 - Find: Decimal symbol
7 - If it is currently: , change it temporarily to .
8 - Click: Apply > Ok
9 - Completely close the PlayDance launcher
10 - Open the launcher again and press PLAY.

Run a test and let me know the result here; if that doesn't work, we'll try something else...
