Hola,

https://updates.playdance.net/PlayDance_Setup.exe

Gracias.

Hello,

I’m having an issue with the official PlayDance installer (PlayDance_Setup.exe) and wanted to ask whether other users are experiencing the same problem.

I tried to download the installer from:

https://updates.playdance.net/PlayDance_Setup.exe

Kaspersky Premium initially blocked the download with a warning saying that a “dangerous website” had been detected through Cloud Security / Safe Browsing.

I eventually managed to download the file and submitted it to VirusTotal. The file has the following properties:

  1. Size: 66,292,423 bytes (63.22 MB)
  2. SHA-256: 9D83D13DAAD359535CD0D618FC35DA86F5B07C714A1C46E982E4F5B5EA21A2E8
  3. File version: 4.0.0.0
  4. Copyright: © 2026 PlayDance — playdance.net
  5. Description: PlayDance Setup
  6. Original Name: PlayDanceSetup.dll

The VirusTotal scan initially showed 1 detection out of 92, only:

Bkav Pro — W32.Malware.56534F20

All other major antivirus engines were showing “Undetected”, including Bitdefender, G DATA, ESET, Microsoft, Malwarebytes, Sophos, Google, etc.

However, after I scanned the file locally with Kaspersky, Kaspersky initially reported that 237 objects had been scanned and that no threats were found.

Later, Kaspersky changed its assessment and moved the installer to quarantine with the following detection:

UDS:DangerousObject.Multi.Generic

The status is shown as “deleted.”

Kaspersky also shows the application as “untrusted” in KSN Reputation.

Could you please confirm whether this SHA-256 belongs to the current official PlayDance installer?

Do you know why Kaspersky is detecting/blocking the installer and whether this is a false positive?

It would also be helpful to know if other users are currently experiencing the same issue with Kaspersky, Bitdefender, or G DATA.

I have not run the installer because I want to make sure that the file is actually safe first.

Thank you.
